My Girlfriend’s House, Inc. My Girlfriend’s House has implemented several programs and initiatives that have allowed us to reach a diverse group of at-risk teen girls in our community. These programs are focused on accomplishing key components to our overall mission: empowerment, leadership, academic and health awareness and self-confidence. We are in immediate need of group volunteers who can make help us in delivering much needed life and social skills training the many teenage girls in our community whom we serve. Below is a summary of our mentoring program and the desired need: Girl Talk Mentoring Program
A year-round vocational leadership skills development program for girls ages 11-17, focused on building a positive understanding of self-worth and confidence through group mentoring, life skills training, career and academic planning and community change. The program addresses pressing community needs among the impoverished community including: educational support, dropout prevention, recreational and social opportunities, life skills training, interpersonal skills training and basic technology training. This program meets 52 weeks each year, on Saturdays from 9:30am - 4pm. How can you help: We are in need of female volunteers that consist of 4-5 women that can make a commitment to mentoring the girls one dedicated Saturday per month between 9:30-4pm. We will provide everything that you need plus a fully developed curriculum that volunteers will bring to life.
