Volunteers are needed on Thursday mid-afternoon to early evening (roughly 3-8 pm) to assist with set up and break down for the food bank delivery to the Mosaica Family Apartments, a supportive housing site for formerly homeless families and older adults in the Mission District. Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of Northern California provides social services to approximately 36 families with children and older adults who live in these apartments.
The volunteer(s) would arrive around 3 pm to assist the LSS staff person in preparing the community room for delivery of the food bank items and in packing up once shopping ends at 7 pm. The volunteer(s) can stay for the duration of shopping time or rotate in and out based on time.
This activity happens weekly, but we would be grateful for even one Thursday a month to relieve staff so they can attend to other duties on-site.
