Identify and attend local outreach opportunities to educate the public about the Red Cross and how they can get involved. Outreach opportunities may include, but are not limited to: Faith-Based events, health fairs, and community fairs.
Present the range of volunteer opportunities available in a given area and encourage community members to volunteer.
Help to identify academic service learning opportunities in the assigned chapter and work with the Volunteer Services Specialist to identify and implement recruitment strategies to fill those opportunities.
Correspond regularly with supervisor to ensure that information presented is up-to-date and share experiences, questions, and concerns in a timely manner.
Willingness to support Red Cross Mission.
Familiarity with local community organizations that could support recruitment efforts.
Ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations, including specific language needs.
Excellent communication, customer service and public relations abilities.
Ability to relate to community members in a pleasant and courteous manner.
Punctual and dependable in arriving for assignment(s).
