We are looking for volunteers with excellent customer services skills to staff our Welcome Desk at our Food Shelf/SNAP/Community Health building. Volunteer interns will help our food shelf customers register for service. This volunteer will check customers’ identification, ensure that they have not been to our food shelf in the last 30 days, verify their contact information and sign them in using the Apricot database. This intern also directs customers to our Intake Navigators for other NorthPoint programs and services and our Community Health Workers for MNSure health insurance enrollment.
We ask for a 3 month commitment and a minimum of one day a week during our Food Shelf hours. Our current openings are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 9am-4pm. You can choose to do one 1/2 day a week or more.
