Volunteers will do arts & crafts or read with the kids in our Pediatric waiting room. The complaint that we get most often is that our wait times are long. For kids, waiting can be challenging especially when parents are busy filling out paperwork, so we try to offer arts & crafts and reading as often as possible. Volunteers are responsible for leading arts & crafts projects including drawing, games, or health education activities or for leading reading circles.
The purpose of Eisner Health’s Volunteer Tutoring Program is to provide free educational services to both pediatric patients and children of Eisner Health patients. The subjects that are covered in the Volunteer Tutoring Program are Reading, Writing, and Math. Our pediatric patients greatly appreciate the activities as not all of them have the same resources at home.
Thanks to our current volunteers, we are able to offer these activities a few days per week; however, our hope is to have volunteers leading activities Monday-Thursday 8-11:30 am and 1-4:30 pm.
