Join Green Road Community Center for Back to School Bash/Back Pack give-a-way and education resource fair. The event will consist of vendors, informational sessions, class demos, guest speakers, and sporting activities.

Volunteer Impact: This event highlights community partnerships, programs, and services that provide support, education, and resources to students and their families within the surrounding area.

Volunteer Duties:

  • Registration - Volunteers will assist with registration for back-pack and supply give-a-way in addition to registering participants for workshops and activities offered during the event.
  • Activities Assistant - Volunteers will help organize and facilitate indoor/outdoor recreational activities.
  • Back Pack Distribution - Volunteers are needed to assist with the organization and distribution of back-packs to students.
Volunteer Shifts: Volunteers can register for 1 of the following shifts

Registration - 8am - 12pm
Activities Assistant - 9am - 2pm
Backpack Distribution - 10:30am - 2pm

Special Information: Volunteers will be invited to attend an orientation on August 17, 2018 at 6:30 pm.

Work Environment: There will be a restroom on site. Volunteers could be inside or outside depending on assignment. This is an event aimed at school aged children and their families, so there is the possibility of a large crowd and high noise level.

Volunteer Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer. All volunteers will need to complete a volunteer release form that will be sent to them prior to the event.

Registration Information: Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. If interested in registering as a group, the group leader must email mary.owens@raleighnc.gov . All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
