Are you looking for volunteer experience in the animal care field? The WNC Nature Center is looking for a committed, hardworking volunteer to assist in the animal department with meal preparation.
Meal prep volunteers assist by preparing meals for predators, small mammals and aviary. This is a great hands-on position that gives volunteers a chance to become familiar with wildlife dietary needs and an AZA-accredited facility. Volunteers must be able to work with raw meat and whole prey such as mice and rats. Live prey is NOT fed to our animals.
These positions will occur every Friday, Saturdays, Sundays, or Mondays for approximately 2 hours. Training occurs in the early afternoon. Volunteers are required to stay for a minimum of 3 months for training purposes.
