The Board Treasurer will serve as an officer to oversee the management and reporting of the organization’s finances. The Treasurer will have general supervision over the care and custody of the funds and the receipts and disbursements of the Organization.
The Treasurer will report to the Board at each regular meeting and chair the Finance Committee. In addition, the Treasurer will assist in the preparation of the budget, development of fund-raising plans, and dissemination of financial information to the Board and the general public as appropriate.
The Treasurer will be responsible for:
Budgets - The Treasurer will be responsible for preparing, or facilitating the preparation of an annual budget, as well as regularly monitoring and comparing the actual revenues and expenses incurred against such budget.
Reports - The Treasurer should have thorough knowledge and understanding of the organization’s financial reports and important financial ratios and keep the board apprised of key financial events, trends, and concerns, and provide assessments of the organization’s fiscal health.
**Must live or work in the Metro Atlanta area.
* Have experience and an understanding of financial accounting for nonprofit organizations.
* Serve as an officer of the organization most directly responsible for its financial affairs and accounting as well as its internal and external financial reporting.
* Ensure that appropriate financial reports (i.e., IRS Form 990, audit and annual report) are completed and available to the board treasurer in a timely manner.
* Review with the executive director projected income and expenses and assists with preparing and presenting the annual operational budget for full board review and approval
The ideal candidate will be able to serve in the role for at least 1 year, be able to pass a background check and attend the monthly board meetings held on the third Tuesday of the month from 6:30-8:45 pm at DDP headquarters in Kennesaw.
