Literacy Volunteers Needed!

Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts at the Pollard Memorial Library is always looking for volunteers to become literacy tutors. Please get involved and help those in the surrounding communities. We have two types of tutoring programs; ESOL for students learning English as a second language, and ABE for students learning how to improve their reading and writing skills. Tutors may work with one student, or they may teach a small group or class.

ALL Volunteer tutors must undergo an 18 hour tutor training before they can begin to work with a student. We offer both types of training at various points throughout the year. Please contact our office to find the most up-to-date information regarding the next tutor training dates.
