This 2015/16 season we are looking for specific soprano, tenor and base chorus members! Rehearsals take place Tuesday evenings during the chorus season from September to December, then January through May. Chorus members are welcomed to join at anytime during the season, pending an audition process.
The Ephrata Cloister chorus interprets the 18th century music composed by Conrad Beissel and the Sisters and Brothers who resided in the Ephrata Community. Chorus members are accepted through an audition process. To historically present the music, following the audition, a chorus member will be provided with a white garb (a habit), a white cloth covered binder, and sheet music. The chorus member is required to keep the garb clean and in good repair. Chorus members are required to attend weekly rehearsals in the Visitors' Center from September to December and again from January through May. Absenses are approved by the Chorus director. When on site or off site for concerts, the Chorus members must wear all pieces of the garb and act in a dignified manner. At the conclusion of each concert season, the Chorus members return all assigned music to the Chorus Librarian.
