At Grace Hospice our volunteers help us to provide the support, respect and care that our bereaved families need. We provide 13 months of bereavement services to support our patients' families and caregivers after a patient's death. The goals are (1) to facilitate a normal grieving process and adjustment to loss, and (2) to identify and appropriately refer those persons experiencing complicated grief reactions which may interfere with the eventual resolution and integration of their loss.
We are in need of bereavement volunteers to assist with phone calls and administrative work under the guidance of our Bereavement Coordinator. This person should be qualified in the area of grief / loss through the demonstration of specific training and / or employment experience.
Grace Hospice provides specific training for bereavement volunteers. While the volunteer hours are flexible, a minimum one-year commitment to the program is essential.
If you are able to give a couple hours of time per week please contact us today! Visit our website at www.ghospice.com to familiarize yourself with our organization and start the application process. Also, feel free to call the Volunteer Coordinator at 616.432.2050.
