Carpet Inventory Preparation Team Volunteers 3 hours of volunteer work can raise Habitat several thousand dollars!
Can you spare 3 hours prepping carpet to raise needed funds to serve our mission? Do you have 2-4 friends who are able to do some physical work with you?
Tuesdays are best but availability other days as well.
This is one of the most powerful uses of your volunteer time.
Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity has been blessed with large donations of new residential and commercial carpet for resale. This is an ideal product for the ReStore because it generates really significant revenue and drives more customers to the stores. This revenue is used to support Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity and our local mission.
We have a dire need for volunteers to process the large rolls into manageable retail inventory. This is a critical step in turning donations into dollars that can be used in the construction of Habitat homes, weatherization, repair projects, and homeownership preparedness education programs. Your time will generate a major source of funds to help our families build strength, stability, and self-reliance.
We are looking for groups of 3-5 people to help with this mission-critical project. The process would include working with Independence ReStore management to cut large rolls into smaller lengths. Volunteers would need to be able to bend, crawl, and work/cut on a concrete floor in a ware-house style building (no a/c or heat) and comfortably be able to lift 50lbs. Typical shifts are 3 hours with breaks.
