The Community Stewardship Volunteer will assist the Community Stewardship Coordinator with regularly scheduled volunteer activities available to public participation. Activities include propagating and transplanting native plants, removing invasive species and watering newly planted natives with public volunteers, IRC-certified Volunteers and IRC staff. Community Stewardship activities are attended by community members of all ages (age limit varies by program), local volunteer groups, corporate groups and groups of middle school and high school students. The Community Stewardship Volunteer will assist in program preparation and clean-up, interact with public participants, and promote awareness of the land and other IRC programs.
Requirements for volunteering as a Community Stewardship Volunteer will vary according to the project. Project-specific needs and a description of each stewardship project will be made available prior to the volunteer’s commitment to the project. Some projects will be more labor intensive than others.
