Project Details

Do you love the ocean and enjoy interacting with people of all ages? Join the Sea Center Volunteer Program and learn about our local marine ecosystems and gain valuable experience working with the public! Sea Crew volunteers are our main educators at the Sea Center, engaging the public and school groups at our touch tanks and in fun, hands-on marine science activities. We ask for a minimum commitment of four months, and we ask volunteers to sign up for one, weekly 3-hour shift. Most new volunteer training sessions take place the first two Wednesdays of each month. Please contact us for details.

As a Sea Center Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the animals and ecology of the Santa Barbara Channel as well as opportunities to participate in advanced trainings, lectures, and field trips.

Contact the Sea Center Volunteer Manager for more information and specific training dates and times. Tel: 805-962-2526 x104 or Email: scvolunteermanager@sbnature2.org or Online: http://sbnature.org/sc/638.html
