In this role you will work as a team with other volunteers to fill grocery orders for Help At Your Door clients. Orders are printed and ready for our shoppers on weekday mornings starting at about 6:30 a.m. Volunteer shoppers take the lists and walk through the stores, finding the items and filling the grocery carts. Volunteers help double-check each cart, assist with the check-out process, and help pack the groceries into totes to be ready for delivery. Shoppers do not pay for or deliver the groceries themselves.
Shopping shifts typically last 3 hours; and shoppers can sign up to help on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Volunteers must have weekday morning availability to assist with this role. We can accommodate snowbird, summerbird, vacation, and other schedule variations.
