Sunday August 12th: the Church of Good Deeds will be collecting gently used shoes, clothing, linens, and housewares from New Yorkers in the morning, and distributing everything for free to all who come by in the afternoon. Anita's Way (the huge covered passageway connecting 42nd and 43rd Streets between 6th and Broadway) has been donated by NYC and ChaShaMa as the venue for this event. All are welcome to volunteer or to take items - or both!!
Volunteers will sort clothing, interact with both donors and needy people, and/or carry some items (if possible) to and from trucks.
The Church of Good Deeds (www.ChurchOfGoodDeeds.org) is a philosophical religion with no deity or dogma: we practice faith in people. Our mission is to bring people together in community, encouraging and enabling Altruism as a part of daily life.Thank you!!!
