At ChickTech, we believe every girl and woman has the right to fulfill their true potential. Through a variety of confidence and skill building experiences, we uplift and empower girls and women through the lens of technology. In the end, our goal is to get and keep girls and women in high tech and show them they are capable of doing - and being - anything they desire. Through service across the country, community members of all types are joining us to bring these experiences to the girls and women who need them the most.
The High School Communications Volunteer for the High School Program is an administrative position providing super to the high school communications manager and is a community connection for the ChickTech: High School program. This role is responsible for the program’s success through connecting to local high schools to gather nominations for our program, help with clubs that work to connect girls to tech, and provide insights into how best to meet the needs of the local community with the services we offer. Some resources will be available for training within the role and experienced chapter leaders to offer mentorship/assistance.
The perfect candidate for the High School Communications Volunteer will be outgoing, communicative, experienced with working with schools, has previous personal volunteer experience, is passionate about empowering girls and women in technology, and is able to make a sustained, long-term commitment. Preferably this individual will have some exposure to the high school or middle school education system though this is not required as long as you are willing to learn.
