Project Details

At ChickTech, we believe every girl and woman has the right to fulfill their true potential. Through a variety of confidence and skill building experiences, we uplift and empower girls and women through the lens of technology. In the end, our goal is to get and keep girls and women in high tech and show them they are capable of doing - and being - anything they desire. Through service across the country, community members of all types are joining us to bring these experiences to the girls and women who need them the most.

The ChickTech Charlotte Event Coordinator is an integral role within the ChickTech Charlotte chapter. This position supports and assists the chapter leadership in managing all career development events and helps manage the ChickTech Charlotte Meetup group. More importantly, this person will help meet the needs of the women in tech community within Charlotte, assist in educating and developing tech talent, and understand the importance of using feedback to develop the career development program. Some resources will be available for training within the role and experienced chapter leaders to offer mentorship/assistance.

The perfect candidate for the Event Coordinator will be community connected, outgoing, encouraging, communicative, has previous volunteer experience, is passionate about empowering girls and women in technology, and is able to make a sustained, long-term commitment. Preferably this individual will have some exposure to event planning, though this is not required as long as you are willing to learn.

The benefits: an opportunity to have leadership experience to put on your resume. Extensive networking opportunities at a local level with a wide diversity of tech companies and other organizations. Having a direct impact on the ability of the local ChickTech chapter to be able to enact its mission. Having a positive, direct impact in the lives of girls and women.
