Interested in volunteering with the Bereavment Team at Heart to Heart Hospice?
We are looking for people who can sit with and listen to those whose loved one has recently died. Often, people just need someone to share their loved one with. They just want to talk about them, their life, their illness, their death.
If you have ever lost someone close to you, you know that no words are going to make it better or bring them back, but there are words and actions that can help in moving one along the path of grief.
Training will be provided. You don't have to worry about saying the wrong thing, or not knowing what to say, the family will do most of the talking.
We could also use help in making phone calls to family after somene has died. Training will be provided as to what to say, what questions to ask and if someone you talk to sounds in crisis or needs a professional to talk with, a Chaplain, Social Worker, and/or Bereavement Coordinator will always be available to assist or to follow up with the family.
These above can get overwhelming at times, so why not assist us with stuffing envelopes. We do several mailing a month and could always use assistance in getting these ready to send to families who loved ones have died.
