City of Apache Junction Liaison
Objectives
Partner with city officials to further AZSA projects and priorities. Enable AZSA to move forward with projects more smoothly and efficiently, bettering the community in the process.Role Purpose
Support existing city sustainability initiatives. Work with city sustainability managers and sustainability commissions to push the envelope on what they are doing in sustainability.. Assess what cities are and aren't doing. Liaise with city officials, city council, and city staff to see where sustainability can be integrated at a city level.
Responsibilities
Act as the liaison between your city and AZSA Partner with priority leads for our 7 topic areas to connect their work to the city’s interests Create new relationships or maintain existing relationships for AZSA with city council and city staff in your city. Attend pertinent city meetings (council, committees, etc.) Identify strategic opportunities for AZSA to collaborate with the city on our existing or possible new projects Partner with the AZSA Executive Director to create clear plans and priorities for city relationships and projectsIdeal Skill Set
Poised and polished professional who will be comfortable representing AZSA at a high level and in meetings with city officials Advanced presentation skills Knowledge of sustainability topics or ability to learn Research skills - ability to read and understand government documents at the city, county, and state levelTime Commitment
