Co-Instructors and Class Assistants support adult students in our ESOL, Adult Basic Education, GED, citizenship, or computer classes. Co-Instructors develop lesson plans and work as a team to co-teach, which provides individualized support for students in classes and the opportunity for volunteers to collaborate and learn from each other. Class Assistants work with a lead teacher to provide extra support to students and the instructor during class.
Our classes focus on skill levels (beginning to advanced), skill areas (reading, writing, math, speaking/listening), or specific topics (citizenship, computers, workplace skills, math and science for the GED test). We work with a diverse population of adult learners who together speak over 40 languages (the top 5 being Amharic, Tigrinya, Spanish, Mandarin, and Somali). Literacy Source is an equal opportunity employer working towards a culturally diverse workplace. People of color and bilingual/multilingual individuals are encouraged to apply.
