Mission Statement

The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Description

Founded in 1998, Dress for Success Hartford has served more than 8,000 women throughout our state. Our organization stems the underlying cause of cyclical poverty through grassroots programs that produce long-term solutions. By offering professional apparel, career development services, and ongoing employment retention programs we address the needs of our clients and promote economic security and self-sufficiency.

In order to ensure that we are serving those most in need of our support, every woman is referred to us through a network of partner agencies. These agencies include a variety of educational institutions, reentry programs for the formerly incarcerated, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, rehabilitation programs and more. We work with more than 140 partner agencies throughout Connecticut.
