Mission Statement

SFCASA is committed to training community volunteers to serve as officers of the court and advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the foster care system.

In San Francisco alone, there are over 1,000 abused and neglected foster youth removed from their families in need of strong positive role models to nurture their development and advocate for their best interest.

At SFCASA we take everyday citizens and train them to serve the community by becoming a powerful voice for abused and neglected foster youth.

As a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), you will be empowered by the foster care system to investigate, facilitate, advocate, and monitor the needs of foster children in order to represent their best interests. You will work one-on-one with a youth, getting to know them so you may advocate for their needs such as housing, education, permanent relationships, and extracurricular activities. At the end of the day, it is the goal of a CASA to help ensure these children don't struggle alone and are given a safe place to live.

SFCASA is in critical need of male volunteers to mentor boys and teens!
