Mission Statement

REACH & RISE Mentoring Program strives to make a difference in a child's life. This free program was established to provide youth from over-stressed families an opportunity to grow through a positive relationship with an adult mentor. The program furthur embodies the mission statement of the YMCA to build strong kids, strong families, strong communities by enriching their spirit, mind, and body.

Description

Highly trained mentors meet with mentees once each week to discuss issues occurring in the youth's life while engaging in enriching activities in the community. A key feature of the program is the inclusion of parents in the mentoring process, from matching their child to an appropriate mentor, to setting goals for the mentoring relationship. Youth are referred from schools, counselors, parents and other YMCA programs.
