Help empower a child through education - Become a tutor & mentor to a child living in a homeless shelter, transitional housing or foster care. There's a child who needs you!

Project Northstar is a tutoring/mentoring program for children currently living in homeless shelters and transitional programs in Washington, DC, and for formerly homeless and at-risk students.

We are currently accepting applications for new adult volunteers to work one-on-one with a child, one night a week, during the academic school year. Tutoring sessions last from 6:15 to 8 pm, each meeting one night per week. There are currently six tutoring sites, although some have a greater need for tutors.
