¨ Kaiser Permanente will set health care standards for quality and affordability.

¨ We will strengthen our partnerships with members and purchasers so that high-quality, comprehensive health care services are performed cost effectively.

¨ We will take ownership and responsibility for our efforts to meet organizational goals and objectives.

¨ We seek to improve the health of the communities of which we are a part.

¨ We will maintain only the highest ethics and foster fairness, respect, and open communications throughout our organization as we execute our mission.

The Volunteer Services Department is an integral partner in achieving member satisfaction. Volunteers are dedicated to providing caring and compassionate assistance to our members, guests and staff.

The purpose of the Volunteer Services Department is to provide supplementary, complementary, and support services to our health plan members, their families and visitors, and to the Kaiser Permanente staff. In addition, our objective is to provide an opportunity for individuals to volunteer their services in a community health care facility. The volunteer program is designed to provide satisfaction for the volunteer, the health plan member, and his/her family.

The Volunteer Services Department seeks to coordinate all segments of volunteer activity to support the goals of other departments. Our primary concerns are patient welfare and quality care. The department participates in patient service activities and programs which are compatible with the policies of the medical facilities.
